Prince Just Dropped 32 Billion Dollars On!

You'll Never Believe What This Prince Just Dropped 32 Billion Dollars On

At some point and time it is probably a dream of many to find themselves on the Forbes list of the worlds most wealthiest.
The millionaire dollar, or in this case billion dollar question is, what would you do with all of that money?
For a good part of the century every time someone was asked this question they would yell, "I'm going to go to Disney World!"
You know what, chances are they are going to Disney World.... But in a brand new Ferrari!

Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Will Give $32 Billion To Charity

UPWORTHY

The world we live in is full of consumerism. A mortal race to see who can accumulate the most material stuff before they finally croak and leave it all behind. How many people would actually put themselves aside for a second and use their wealth to make the world a better place? 60-year old Al-Waleed used his fortune to do just that.
The nephew of Saudi Arabia's royal leader King Salman, is worth a whopping $32 billion! Thats more money than most people can even make in a lifetime of dreaming about making money! On July 1, 2015 he announced that he is giving away the entire pot to charity.
His nonprofit Al-Waleed Philanthropies, will be getting all those coins over the next several years. The organization uses the money to aid in a handful of cases worldwide, like empowering women, eradicating diseases, assisting in disaster relief, ending poverty, increasing intercultural understanding, and the list goes on and on.

How to Make the Best French Toast

How to Make the Best French Toast of Your Life

French toast was one of the first things I learned how to cook as a kid. The other was egg-in-a-hole. Eggs-plus-bread-plus-skillet—that was me.
Initially, I liked my French toast extra-sweet. I'd stir maple syrup and vanilla extract into the egg-and-milk custard before soaking the bread, then pour extra butter and syrup on each serving.
Now, my French toast tastes have expanded. Sometimes I stir bourbon into the eggs and milk and eat it topped with yogurt and fresh raspberries. Sometimes I season it with nothing more than salt, pepper, and nutmeg, then melt cheese on top of it and eat it for dinner. And sometimes I get crazy and stuff my French toast with jam, chocolate, cream cheese—whatever I can find.
The only thing I never do? Use a recipe. Because if I could master French toast as a kid, I can certainly master it now. And so can anybody else—they just have to follow the steps below.

CHOOSE YOUR BREAD

French toast can be made out of any kind of bread, but the softer and squishier the loaf, the better it will absorb the eggs and milk. (That's why brioche and challah are classic.) Unless you're stuffing your French toast (more on that below), make it extra-thick—one-inch-thick slices of bread are perfect.

MAKE THE CUSTARD

In a wide, shallow bowl or baking dish, whisk together the eggs and milk. You want one egg per slice of bread, and a generous splash of milk (about 2 tablespoons) per egg. This yields the perfect consistency to my taste, but if you want your French toast mushier, try a bit more milk. (Like it less mushy? Use less milk!) You can swap in cream for a richer flavor, or buttermilk for a tarter flavor. Or use your favorite nut or grain milk instead. Whisk it all together, then whisk in some seasoning. A pinch of salt and a pinch of ground nutmeg are all you need for a simple sweet breakfast, but you can also add a splash of vanilla, or bourbon, or brandy. Try cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, or allspice—or a mix of them all. If you want a sweeter French toast, add a splash of maple syrup or agave nectar to the mix. And if savory French toast is what you're after, add a bit of black or cayenne pepper.

STUFF IT (IF YOU WANT TO)

Making stuffed French toast is as easy as making a sandwich: Spread one slice of bread with whatever you want inside your French toast—mascarpone, jam, Nutella, peanut butter—then sandwich another slice on top. Try to leave a little space around the border of the bread to help the two slices seal together when soaked. (Note: Since stuffed French toast uses two slices of bread, you want that bread to be thinner. Aim for 1/2-inch slices.)
P

SOAK IT WELL

Take your bread slices (or your sandwich) and place it in the milk-and-egg custard. Turn it in the mixture once so that both sides are coated, then let it sit for ten minutes, flipping once halfway through.

FRY IT UP

Melt some butter (or heat a neutral oil) in a skillet over medium-high heat, then gently place your soaked bread (or sandwich) in the pan. Let it cook undisturbed until golden-brown on the bottom, about 3 minutes, then flip with a spatula and cook the other side until golden-brown, another 2 to 3 minutes.

TOP IT (WITH CHEESE?!)

Maple syrup, honey, sweetened yogurt, jam—all of these things are good for topping French toast. But if you want a savory French toast, sprinkle grated cheese on top as soon as you flip it in the skillet. (I like gruyere, but any meltable cheese will do; try cheddar, Montery jack, mozzarella, or fontina.) The cheese should melt within the final three minutes of frying; you'll start to melt the moment you taste it.

SET UP THE MOST EFFICIENT HOME OFFICE SPACE

HOW TO SET UP THE MOST EFFICIENT HOME OFFICE SPACE

The mental and physical health benefits of well considered interior design are widely known and lauded (check out the spaces of happy Home polish clients for proof!). A room's layout and aesthetic depend on its purpose, but how do you balance the function with visual preferences and practical needs? Today we're exploring the at-home workspace and I'll help you determine how best to set up yours. Whether you have a room or a corner to dedicate to working from home, it's important to consider the factors that make for a productive and efficient environment.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

You can't just toss a desk in any corner of your home and call it an office. Whether you have an extra room or an extra corner, the location and layout of your new workspace is very important. It's proven that sunlight aides productivity so consider sitting close to a window. Plus, having a view is nice when you need to take your eyes away from your computer screen. If, like us, you live in a small apartment in a big city, there are great options for convertible desks or fold-out tables that can be tucked away when you're done working. We love the home office our designer Shelly Lynch Sparks designed for blogger Style Girlfriend!

CONSIDER THE SENSORY EXPERIENCE

The sensory experience of a home office can make or break a work day! Dim lighting, uncomfortable temperatures, bad seating (more on this later), or relentless noise can make concentrating very difficult. If your work area has less-than-stellar lighting, get a desk lamp (there are tons of options out there that are both attractive and affordable). Working from your sofa sounds like a good idea but you'll end up with a sore back after too many hours. Noisy traffic or appliances, like a fridge, can distract you from doing your best work. If you have the room to sit somewhere quiet, do, otherwise we suggest noise-cancelling headphones (this pair from Sony is a steal, this pair from Samsung is more of a splurge). This home office is a great Homepolish example of small, functional, and attractive.

KEEP IT ORGANIZED

Great organization is the foundation of efficiency. Whether you're strictly a Cloud user or you have real life physical files (wow!), it's important to know where they are and how to access them. Filing cabinets, storage boxes, and paper folios all come in a variety of sizes, styles, colors, and space-saving shapes. No floor space? Tack it to your wall! A converted entryway serves as our designerGunnar Larsons' home office.
As we mentioned before, uncomfortable seating can really cramp your work style. We aren't suggesting you invest in a Herman Miller—if you live in a studio it will look weird amongst your carefully curated other furniture—but do consider how your butt and back will feel before you buy that cute but hard antique metal chair. One eight-hour workday in the wrong chair will reveal every possible ache and cramp in your body! I love this modern option, which is streamlined without arms. This "managerial chair" has a fun gold finish and the petal office chair works at a desk but is equally stylish in the living room of your apartment.
