Here are a few photos that won’t be needing a description for the message are so loud and heart wrenching that it is bound to make you cry:

Starving child with vulture : In 1993, photographer Kevin Carter won the Pulitzer Prize for taking this photo of a starving girl in South Sudan being stalked by a vulture. It was a rule for the journalists not to touch victims of the famine in order to avoid transmitting disease. Carter was so overcome with guilt that he committed suicide three months later.

Syrian Girl: This is the heartbreaking moment a four-year-old Syrian girl ‘surrendered’ to a photographer when she mistook the man’s camera for a gun.

Taken at the Atmen refugee camp on Syria’s border with Turkey last December, the image shows the young girl frozen in fear with her arms raised and her lips tightly pursed.

Aylan Kurdi: Aylan Kurdi, a migrant toddler lying dead.Photo-journalist Nilüfer Demir, who was in Bodrum covering the migrant crisis for Turkey’s Doğan News Agency (DHA), said in the moment she took the photo, she put her emotions aside to carry out her duty as a journalist. Reflecting on her emotional reaction to the sight of migrant deaths, she sad it was one of “pain and sorrow.”
